Too Hot to Hatch - A Turtle's Tale

Rory Fielding Films, which explores the implications of global warming, rising seas, and its impact on species such as sea turtles. A recent FAU study suggests that rising temperatures are having a profound effect on the sex of sea turtle hatchlings which are determined by the temperature of the eggs buried in the sand. The report was startling, indicating that as many as 99 of 100 hatchlings are being born female, threatening the species in generations to come. In fact, not a single male has been found on S. Florida beaches in 3 years. If climate change is having this profound effect on sea turtles, what about other species or humans? Too Hot to Hatch was produced for PBS-WLRN, Miami.
